Blogs

Am working my way through Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts and Other Powerful WebTools for Classrooms by Will Richardson and so am back to my blog with intentions of learning more.

"Our collective inability to recognize a "tectonic shift" in the way we learn... will only come when enough educators fully understand the open connections, open conversations, open content, and open learning that come as a part of a community of learners who are invested in the own passions."

On a non-related note I received an email from a collegue with the message:

Today...I wish you a day of ordinary miracles

Which is what I wish for you... have a warm and wonderful ordinary day!

Hard vs. Easy Habits

I find setting goals (i.e. Begin with the end in mind) very difficult due to my perception of a failure factor. The easiest habit is obviously Using technology to your advantage

7.5 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners

1. Begin w/ the end in mind i.e. set goals (you can always change them later)
2. Accept responsibility for your own learning
3. View problems as challenges
4. Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner
5. Create your own learning tool box
6. Use technology to your advantage
7. Teach/mentor others
7.5. Play!!!
